A message from Nicola

I expect many of you, like me, will be feeling profoundly sad at the news of the death of her late Majesty, a woman of deep faith and dedicated service; and Supreme Governor of the Church of England.  May she rest in peace and rise in glory.

The church bells in all three parishes were tolled at midday yesterday.  The churches are open for private prayer, with official condolence photographs of the Queen displayed, and we will be opening formal books of condolence on Saturday 10th September.  The churches will be open all Saturday for private prayer and contemplation.

Our Sunday services on Sunday 11th September will incorporate an act of remembrance and thanksgiving; and services of commemoration for her Majesty will follow at a later date during the period of mourning.

Please pray for the Queen's family, and for all who loved her.

Gracious God, we give thanks for the life of your servant Queen Elizabeth, for her faith and dedication to duty.  Bless our nation as we mourn her death and may her example continue to inspire us; through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen.

God save the King.

With love, and in prayer,

Nicola
