Welcome to the webpage of the church of St Mary Magdalene, Whipsnade.

Please see the Church page for details of our services.

The Church of England parish church of Whipsnade, also known by its unusual dedication to St Mary Magdalene, stands at the heart of this famous and beautiful village, and is the main spritual centre for the community. It is normally kept open for visits and prayer in daylight hours. As an 'ancient' church building, ours is relatively young: the church tower is the oldest part, dating from the sixteenth century, while the central part of the building is Georgian. At the opposite end to the tower the chancel is Victorian. We're particularly proud, after decades of campaigning and fundraising, to have a 21st-century addition at the south western corner, containing a servery, toilet and meeting room.
