Welcome to the webpage of the church of St Mary the Virgin, Kensworth.

Please see the Church page for details of our services.

St Mary's, the Church of England parish church of Kensworth, is at the heart of what was once the hub of the village, and it remains one of the main spiritual and emotional centres of the community. Its setting is a remarkable haven of tranquility and timeless contemplation. The church itself was mainly built in the early 1100s (from which time dates the distinctive herringbone flint work of the walls), with a later tower.

For reasons of security and insurance, the church has to be kept locked when not in use, but you can still enjoy the beautiful churchyard and the exterior of the building. A key is kept locally and directions to it are displayed in the porch.
